Resumen
Introducción: los determinantes sociales de la salud abarcan factores sociales que influyen en la vida y salud de las personas generando desigualdades y afectando la calidad de vida. Objetivo: establecer la relación entre los determinantes sociales de la salud en la infancia y la autopercepción de la salud en la persona mayor de la ciudad de Manizales. Metodología: se realizó un estudio trasversal, de tipo relacional, secundario del estudio internacional del envejecimiento de la primera cohorte del año 2012 IMIAS. La investigación incluyó a 203 hombres y 203 mujeres entre las edades de 64 y 75 años. Se consideraron variables demográficas, sociales, y biológicas, además de la autopercepción de la salud. Los datos fueron procesados para su análisis y obtención de una regresión logística en el programa Statgraphics Centurion XVI. Resultados: el 50,4 % de las personas tuvo una buena autopercepción de la salud, la cual estuvo relacionada con las condiciones favorables durante la niñez, como la ausencia de enfermedades crónicas, hospitalizaciones prolongadas o desempleo paterno. Se identificó, en el modelo de regresión logística, que durante la etapa de la infancia solo la educación tuvo una influencia significativa con la autopercepción del estado de salud (p=0,040). Conclusiones: determinantes sociales potencialmente modificables durante la vida se constituyen un factor importante para el estado de salud en la vejez, asimismo influyen en la autopercepción, las enfermedades crónicas y las limitaciones funcionales.
