Introducción: Las conductas de sexting en adolescentes constituyen una problemática creciente, donde la comunicación entre padres y adolescentes puede fungir como factor protector; sin embargo, poco se conoce sobre la incidencia de esta variable en el contexto nacional. Objetivo: Establecer la asociación entre la comunicación de padres-adolescentes y conductas de sexting adolescentes escolarizados de Bucaramanga, Colombia. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio no experimental, observacional, analítico y transversal. Participaron 399 estudiantes seleccionados por muestreo por conglomerados, quienes diligenciaron una ficha de datos sociodemográficos, la Escala de Comunicación Padres-Adolescentes y la Escala de Comportamientos sobre Sexting. Los procedimientos estadísticos se realizaron en SPSS versión 25. Se calcularon asociaciones bivariadas y multivariadas mediante razones de oportunidad (OR), siendo la comunicación con el padre o madre las variables independientes, el sexting la variable dependiente y los datos demográficos posibles variables confusoras. Resultados: Se encontró que el 36,30% de los adolescentes mantenía una comunicación abierta con la madre y 56,70% con el padre. La prevalencia de sexting fue de 6,80%. Las conductas de sexting no se asociaron con la comunicación con el padre (OR=0,91; IC95%=0,42-2.00) y con la madre (OR=0,61; IC95%=0,28-3,79). Conclusiones: Los adolescentes se comunicaron mejor con los padres que con las madres y no realizaban prácticas de sexting frecuentes. La comunicación padres-adolescente no constituye un factor protector significativo para los comportamientos de sexting en los estudiantes.
