Resumen

Introducción: Los niveles de contaminación del aire tienen impactos negativos sobre la salud cardiovascular. Objetivo: Sintetizar la evidencia científica de los últimos 5 años de la asociación de los niveles de contaminación con la aparición de arritmias cardiacas. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda de la literatura en las bases de datos Science Direct, EBSCO HOST, Doaj, Latindex, Pubmed, Redalyc, Scielo y Biblioteca Virtual en Salud. Para la selección de los artículos se tuvo en cuenta la mnemotecnia PICO (población, intervención, comparativo y resultados). La calidad científica fue evaluada con la herramienta Critical Appraisal Skills Programme español CASPe. La síntesis y el análisis se llevó a cabo con el uso de la herramienta office Excel. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 25 artículos primarios. Se establecieron cuatro categorías para su comprensión: efectos arrítmicos de los niveles contaminantes, cambios fisiopatológicos, población vulnerable y medidas de prevención. Conclusión: La exposición a partículas contaminantes del aire tienen una asociación significativa con cambios electrocardiográficos y las arritmias cardiacas.
