Resumen

La integración de tecnologías digitales en el sector de la arquitectura, la ingeniería y la construcción (AEC) ha impulsado nuevas estrategias para optimizar la gestión de información y fortalecer los procesos de comunicación durante el ciclo de vida de los proyectos. En este contexto, Building Information Modeling (BIM) se ha consolidado como una metodología ampliamente utilizada para la coordinación y administración de datos en proyectos de construcción. Más recientemente, la incorporación de tecnologías de Realidad Virtual (VR) ha ampliado las capacidades de visualización e interacción de los modelos BIM, favoreciendo entornos inmersivos para la evaluación y comprensión espacial. En respuesta a esta evolución tecnológica, la presente investigación propone un flujo de trabajo estructurado para la integración BIM-VR, orientado a mejorar la interoperabilidad entre plataformas y facilitar la generación de entornos virtuales inmersivos. El flujo de trabajo se desarrolló en tres etapas principales. La primera corresponde a la preparación del modelo BIM mediante Revit y el procesamiento de información con Dynamo. La segunda etapa se centra en la configuración del entorno VR en Unreal Engine, utilizando Blueprint para la programación visual y la interacción de los elementos del modelo. Finalmente, la tercera etapa comprende la simulación y visualización inmersiva del entorno BIM-VR mediante el dispositivo Meta Quest 2. Como resultado principal, se logró la consolidación de un entorno BIM-VR funcional que integra la información del modelo BIM en una experiencia inmersiva e interactiva. Adicionalmente, la investigación generó un repositorio digital con una plantilla reutilizable de VR, diseñada para aplicaciones académicas e investigativas. Los resultados evidencian el potencial de la integración BIM-VR para fortalecer procesos de visualización, aprendizaje y comunicación técnica en entornos educativos y de diseño colaborativo.
