Abstract

SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW ON KNOWLEDGE MANAgEMENT PROCESSES

ANALYTICAL SUMMARY

The purpose of this paper is to present a synthesis of knowledge management processes published in the scientific literature, as a starting point towards the design of a process reference model in knowledge management domain. In particular, the research interests were the identification of process denominations, purposes, outcomes and the relationships between processes. To accomplish this purpose, a systematic literature review of 65 scientific documents published between 2001 and 2011 was conducted. The main finding of this study is the synthesis of 12 processes, eight core knowledge management processes and fourth processes related to managing knowledge management. For each process, a statement of its purpose and its outcomes are presented. In addition, the relationships between processes are presented as a human activity system.

KEYWORDS: Knowledge Management, Processes, Purposes, Outcomes, Systematic Review.
