Abstract

The objective of this article is to carry out an analysis of the existent relationships between the electoral legislation and the civil wars in the beginnings of the State political life in Santander. The beginnings of the Radical experiment are described carried out by the most important liberal ideologists in the XIX century in this State, making special emphasis in the political and military dynamics that it brought gets the electoral State law of December 30 on 1857 and the national law of April 8 on 1859.
