Abstract
The emergence of the peronism caused a rupture in the political history of Argentina. Its rise was not built from scratch, it was drew on political and ideological traditions that preceded it. Nationalism was one of these strands, which had a particular impact on the formative years of the new movement. Through nationalism, not only the first Peronist incorporated supporters and leaders, but at the same time, it helped build a political speech and ideological alternative to liberalism. This included a reenactment of the past and the opening of new “memory itineraries”.
This paper aims to reconstruct the phenomenon of the peronism, identifying the actors involved, their speeches, oppositional voices and the scope of measures taken. In sum, this paper aims to evaluate the local peronism, both its impact on the society and politics in Corrientes, and in shaping the peronism at the national scale.
