Resumo

Neste artigo, analiso alguns dos estudos sobre migração para a América Latina, apresento um quadro geral desses trabalhos e coloco a historiografia da migração para a Colômbia nesse quadro. Eu identifico duas perspectivas de análise; um socioeconômico, que surgiu em 1990, e que privilegia uma análise da atividade laboral dos imigrantes. A segunda, de cunho sociocultural, surge nos anos 2000 e estuda a maneira como os ideais racializados de construção das nações latino-americanas afetaram os processos de
recepção e integração dos imigrantes. A historiografia das migrações para a Colômbia se enquadra, sobretudo, na primeira perspectiva, pois analisa as causas das migrações e as atividades laborais dos imigrantes. No entanto, é possível encontrar algumas abordagens recentes que redirecionam os estudos de migração aos ideais de nação vigentes na Colômbia no início do século XX.
