COMPARACIÓN DE LAS TÉCNICAS DE RECICLADO DE BRACKETS METÁLICOS POR MEDIO DE MEDICIONES ELECTROQUÍMICAS

RESUMEN

Las técnicas desarrolladas para realizar el reciclado de brackets metálicos deben garantizar su funcionalidad en el tratamiento de ortodoncia, además de no causar reacciones alérgicas. Esto último ha sido superado, sin embargo, el acero del cual se fabrica, es susceptible a algún tipo de corrosión. Realizando las técnicas comúnmente aplicadas para el reciclo, como arenado y flameado, además de un novedoso procedimiento propuesto, se pretende evaluar los procesos de corrosión a los cuales se ven expuestos, por medio de técnicas electroquímicas, utilizando como electrolito saliva artificial Afnor. Los resultados obtenidos en las pruebas corroboran que el arenado sigue siendo la técnica con los mejores resultados.

ABSTRACT

The techniques used to carry out the recycling of the metallic brackets must guarantee their functionality in the treatment as well as not to cause any allergic reactions. The latest has been successfully achieved; however, the steel that they are made of might be corrosive. The techniques commonly applied for the recycling like the sandblasting and direct flaming were carried out, besides a proposed procedure; this work aims to evaluate the processes of corrosion using electrochemical techniques and electrolyte artificial saliva Afnor. The results corroborated that the sandblasting is the best technique.
