Abstract

The real applicability of the method of "false root" - well-known as "complex domain"- in the calculation of saturation pressures in the critical region of hydrocarbon reservoir mixtures, and in the critical transition zone of the compositional gradients is evaluated in this work. In both cases, it was found that the "false root" method, substantially reduces, the possibilities that the saturation algorithm diverges or that it converges to trivial solutions
