Abstract
When drilling high angle – high displacement wells, special attention should be put on wellbore cleanness, taking into account that cutting beds tend to be formed on the low side of the well. A previous work, which studied this phenomena on wells drilled east of the Oriente Basin, allowed to stablish a methodology to diagnose, on the design phase, possible cleaning problems.
In this article, a methodology to diagnose cleaning problems on a real time basis was developed, and includes the use of threetools; two of them use annular pressure readings, and the last one implies the study of cuttings at Surface. The result of the applied methodology on a well drilled east of the Oriente Basin, is shown in this paper, demonstrating its effectiveness.
