Abstract

I hasten to answer the letter of 29 of last month that you did me the honor of addressing me, and that I received with the greatest satisfaction.

Sensitive, as I should, to the interest that you have wanted to take for the fate of my country, grieving with it for the torments it suffers, from its discovery until these last periods, by its destroyers the Spaniards, I do not feel less the compromise in which put me the solicitous demands that you make me about the most important objects of American politics.
