Abstract
This paper examines the question of art today and its link to politics, taking as a connecting thread Walter Benjamin´s concept of aura and, in particular, its contemporary reinterpretations in the works of Nicolas Bourriaud and Yves Michaud, two exponents of contemporary French aesthetics. Firstly, the works of these two authors are summarized and compared, and secondly Benjamin´s famous essay "The work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction" is revisited.
