Abstract

Literally speaking 'utopía' means 'what is not in any place'. Tomas Moro applied the word to the perfect society. His idea was of an all-desirable human society, for it would materialize the ideal of life. proper to human beings, if this ideal is considered reachable. Utopía is, therefore, what plays the role of model, of perfection. Almost none of the authors of utopías would believe in the possibiliry of taking into practice their utopia. This doesn't take us, necessarily to a pessimist stance. lt is possible to discover reasons against optimism. and against trust in the future, does not hold us from projecting illusions for we are beings enabled for illusions. A non fundamental illusion or a non-reasoned illusion, is necessary for life. for lile is impossible without illusion.
