Abstract
this article rebuilds the debate between Kant's and Hume phílosophical debate. The starting point are the Kantian consíderations in the Antínomies of pure
reason. the third antinomy in particular which deals wíth the idea of causality as necessity oras liberty. lt first~ shows the path that takes Kant to this problem and the arguments Hume would probab~ gíve from a sceptical poínt of view. This lends display a suspicion on Kants assertion that scepticism is a false Why out to the antinomies and, as such, untenable aside Critical Philosophy. Further, from the topic of transcendental idealism it is shown that íf scepticism is possible, it has
reasons to be held up against Kant and, besides, that hís reasons to favour Critical Phílosophy ínstead of scepticism, in a Humean sense, are not admissible.
