Resumo
Colunas de bandejas são essencialmente cilindros verticais nos quais o líquido e o gás são colocados
em contato em operação em estágios em bandejas e sem ferramentas para processos de absorção e destilação. No presente artigo foi realizado o dimensionamento de uma coluna de pratos perfurados para absorção física de amônia utilizando água como solvente. Os valores calculados para diâmetro da coluna, queda de pressão do gás por bandeja, taxa de fluxo de massa de arrastamento e eficiência da bandeja de Murphree corrigida por arrastamento foram 0,962 m; 0,683 kPa/bandeja; 0,102 kg/s e 0,796 respectivamente. Os valores calculados tanto da queda de pressão do gás por bandeja quanto da vazão mássica de arrastamento são menores que os limites estabelecidos pelo processo; portanto, a coluna de pratos perfurados projetada pode ser utilizada satisfatoriamente para o serviço de transferência de massa necessário.
