Resumen

Debido a la eficiencia del proceso de drenaje gravitacional asistido con vapor SAGD, la presencia de pozos horizontales desde la producción en frio en muchos campos de crudo pesado y a que la implementación de una sola técnica de recuperación puede disminuir significativamente el factor de recobro final nacen los esquemas secuenciales de recobro mejorado que incluyen el método SAGD, estos consisten en la unión o aplicación en secuencia de distintas técnicas de recuperación junto con el SAGD, se encargan de reconocer en cada método principios, características, ventajas y desventajas y los cambios ocasionados en el yacimiento como el mejoramiento en las propiedades de flujo, estableciendo así la viabilidad de aplicación de una tecnología posterior o la unión de dos tecnologías. En este artículo se presenta una revisión detallada de cada uno de estos nuevos esquemas emergentes.
