Abstract
This editorial note presents an analysis of citations received by papers published in the Revista UIS Ingenierías (RUI), from documents indexed in the Scopus bibliographic database, during the period 2013-2018. The information was collected through advanced searches by operators, classification, treatment and statistical interpretation of data. This analysis allowed identifying the impact of RUI on the Scopus bibliographic base and the geographical distribution of the authors who cite the Revista UIS Ingenierías, from the documents indexed in that base. The results of the exercise shown in this editorial letter show that in recent years the Revista UIS Ingenierías has positioned itself as a source of dissemination of relevant scientific knowledge.
