Metwill: a contribution to the learning of the soft system methodology for the establishment of information requirements

Abstract

The research developed by the STI Group, had as its goal to promote the learning and the application of the SSM in the Information Systems students using the software resource called MetWill. Information, Information Systems and Technology (IS/IT) are the key factors in the contemporary organizations. Computing in the companies is not only a support but also a vital function for the achievement of corporate goals. Because of that, an appropriate establishment for the information requirements of the business process it's a necessary competence in the professionals of computing discipline "Information Systems". The Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) developed in Lancaster University (UK), gives us a significant contribution to the professional practice of information requirements management and therefore is a valuable approach to be socialized in the university contexts.
