Abstract

This paper shows a new methodology to calculate the current reference in a shunt active power filter. The methodology is based on the Kalman filter as an electrical parameters estimator and is focused in the compensation of the harmonics generated by nonlinear loads. The validity of the methodology is demonstrated through simulations in Matlab / Simulink and is evaluated in an experimental setup.
