Abstract
This article describes the design and implementation of a software application for the use of the HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) protocol of industrial communications; although this protocol is one of the most widely used in the world, there are very few publications in Colombia about the software design fundamentals in this genre. The HART application was conceived as a solution to academic purposes with industrial perspective, that gives the user possibilities of reading and configuring intelligent field devices, with a friendly graphical environment, structured in levels, that support lectures of process variables in real time and provides the user with details of transaction; also, this article shows the HART protocol generalities in its structure and applications.
