Abstract

Memory and poetry are mother and daughter to Greek mythology. Memory originates poetry and art, activities that make peoples reflect on themselves and activate their ability to create. With the analysis of some properties by which the poems manage to build reasoned memory of heartbreaking human conflicts, it can be noted that the poetic word has special power to keep the history of the peoples in a deep and transcendent sense. The image, the allegory, the use of colloquial language and the rhythm of expression are some resources that poetry offers to those who wish to take them to significantly enhance their writing of history.
