Abstract

Comic artist, author and illustrator of numerous books -among others, María Elena Walsh, María Teresa Andruetto, Yolanda Reyes and Irene Vasco- Daniel Rabanal proposes a brief reflection on the conditions of artistic creation, without distinction of public. It must be the inner need that guides the artist's hand. Recalling his beginnings as a cartoonist in the prisons of the Argentine dictatorship, he insists on the importance of historical memory and justice, even though he rejects any moralizing or educational purpose. Instead, he evokes the liberating force and a certain restorative effect in drawing.
