Abstract

This article reflects on how art and culture become a mechanism that tends toward symbolic reparation for children who were victims of the Colombian armed conflict in early childhood. It also poses the question of how these elements strengthen the reconstruction of their realities and allow them to remember their recent past. This article is a summary derived from the Beca de Arte y Cultura para Atender a la Primera Infancia en Bogotá (Art and Culture Scholarship to Assist Early Childhood in Bogota) entitled “Rebuilding through Play.” This Scholarship was carried out with 400 children between the age of zero and three who were victims of armed conflict using interdisciplinary artistic and cultural practices with a differentiated approach in the urban and rural areas of Usme and Ciudad Bolivar in Bogota.
