Abstract
This paper attempts to show that Gadamer’s reflection in the third section of Truth and Method about an outstanding topic for hermeneutic philosophy: The historicity of understanding. To be fair with it, it is required to go beyond the methodological dimension of the nineteenth century hermeneutics, conceived as epistemological groundation for humanities. The key for this, implies focusing on the recognition of some specific hermeneutic concepts such as: prejudice, effectual history, situation hermeneutic and horizons. Therefore, each one those concepts will be exposed by trying to relate them with our original concern.
