Abstract

The present text is divided in four parts. In the first one, the central subject of Macbeth is shown, that is, the evil as an axis that articulates the whole tragedy. In the second part, the opposition dream-vigil is examined, and the evil is interpreted as the emergency of the nightmare towards the reali~. The third one shows the development of the scene that is propitious to the subject of the evil. Finally, the article concludes with an analysis of the evil in Lady Macbeth
