Abstract

A summary of the standard model of cosmology from it origins until today are presented. Firstly, recent observational results, among which are: the various measurements of the RCF, type Ia supernovae, galaxies catalog; significant results of N-body cosmological simulations are reported. Right after there is a theoretical part which analyzes the FRW models. Following, the problem of the cosmological constant, inflation and acoustic oscillations are discussed. Finally, the general ideas behind quintessence are presented.
