En Colombia existen aproximadamente 19 mil hectáreas sembradas con plantas de fque, con un rendimiento anual de 1,16 t/ha de fbra, las cuales generan alrededor de 108000 t de bagazo. La caracterización fsicoquímica y el poder calorífco del bagazo de fque (BF) lo hacen idóneo como fuente de carbono para la producción de biogás. La digestión anaerobia del BF, utilizando como inóculo líquido ruminal y lodo estiércol de cerdo, genera 0,45 m3 CH4/kg SV adicionados y como subproducto un lodo efuente (LE). La inadecuada disposición del LE ocasionaría problemas ambientales en aguas subterráneas y suelos. La caracterización fsicoquímica y microbiológica del LE, reportó contenido de fbras, minerales, micronutrientes y un valor alimenticio relativo (156,12) que permite clasifcarlo como forraje tipo prime y como biosólido clase B según el contenido de patógenos. Mediante la metodología analytical hierarchy process (AHP) y el software expert choice v.11.5, el acondicionamiento del suelo y la producción de concentrado para animales fueron seleccionadas como las alternativas adecuadas para el aprovechamiento industrial del LE.
