Abstract
In the presence of the event of bridges collapse for seismic action, it is important to take into account some tools which allow predicting their performance. Speaking of which, this work has the purpose to set up a methodology for the construction of vulnerability functions and damage probability matrices for reinforced concrete bridges. The methodology embodies the evaluation of a vulnerability index through a built model in which the opinion f experts was considered, and relates it with a damage index, through the appliance of the model proposed by Park and Ang. For this, the inventory of the bridges in existence in the city of Bucaramanga was done, and with this information a data base was built and this made easier the appliance of this methodology. In this way, preliminary functions were built and with these, the expected damages were evaluated before different seismic events.
