Abstract
This paper proposes alternatives to the improvement of electric energy service continuity with the application of the LAMDA technique, which is based on artificial intelligence. The proposed methodology demands a minimum investment from utilities since it only requires measurements in the substation end of the feeder. The information utilized by the tool for the estimation of fault location comprises of data acquired by recorders installed in the substation end of feeders, network configuration and other parameters of the distribution system. With the application of this methodology, results like the reduction of duration (T) and number of interruptions (N) indexes of the supply of electric energy, which are established by regulating entities, are expected.
