Abstract
This is a study of the sedimentological characteristics of the Tierna and Labor Sandstones from the upper part of the Guadalupe Formation. The Labor Sandstone, the lower one, is formed by approximately 65 m of thick banks of sandstones separated by layers of fine material; the mean size in the sandstone banks stays almost constant around 0.25 mm. The Tierna Sandstone is formed by around 50 m of sandstones of medium or thick size (1 or ¼ mm) whit cross bedding and ripple-marks. The accumulative curves of both sandstones groups are alike because they have a good sorting and very few asymmetry but they have a good sorting and very few asymmetry but they form two separated groups slightly over crossed between themselves, having a narrower through size composition, and this difference could.
