Abstract
The forcefulness of the historical-political reality of our country, added to the impudence of being a professor, took me to the daring to study and offer a university course on Historical Memory for five (5) years. In its becoming, a question has been repeatedly asked: What is the image we have about 'memory'? The question has been confronted academically with literary, historical, linguistic, political and philosophical productions, as well as, experientially, with the social encounter. In the seedbed Imaginaries for the Peace of the UR, we inquire socially and in connivance what the imaginary that underlies the term memory is and how this conception shapes particular social behaviors. This paper presents the achievements, in relation to various senses and some reiterations, in the attempt to answer the question stated and the new questions that have arisen in the research process.
