Editorial Policy

The Revista Docencia Universitaria is a Colombian journal, which was created in 1998 as a publication of the Centro para el Desarrollo de la Docencia of the Universidad Industrial de Santander-CEDEDUIS, where research articles on topics related to pedagogy, didactics and university teaching are published. Likewise, it accepts debate proposals that allow broadening fundamental problems in front of the exercise of university teaching.

The dissemination of the journal is biannual and the invitation to publish is made by means of a call adressed to:

The articles publication does not have a cost. The papers sent for publication must be unpublished texts and submitted exclusively for publication in the Revista Docencia Universitaria. The Editorial Board processes the texts received through anti-plagiarism software and sends them to peer review in a double-blind mode, to obtain the concept with which the decision of publishing is made. The journal management does not commit to the authors' thoughts and opinions of the authors whose articles are published.

The Revista Docencia Universitaria provides immediate free access to all its content under the principle that making research available to the public free of charge allows a greater exchange of global knowledge. For this, it is governed by the criteria established in the Creative Commons license.

Currently, the Revista Docencia Universitaria is registered in the Bibliographic Databases: IRESIE, CLASE, EBSCO-Academic Search Premier and Google Scholar. It also tends to comply with the indexation criteria established by other open access databases.

Focus and Scope

The Revista Docencia Universitaria makes available to professors, researchers and students of Higher Education Institutions at local, national and international level, the experiences, reflections and research of university professors committed to their work within a framework of innovation and reflection in such a way to support the formation of the people to whom they are directed. The focus of the journal is multidisciplinary. It is oriented not only to the Social Sciences, but also to all the disciplines that are related to pedagogy, didactics and education in the different areas of knowledge, in Higher Education.

Typologies

The submitted works must correspond to one of the following typologies:

  1. Scientific and Technological Research Article. It is a document, which presents, in a detailed manner, the original results of completed research projects. The structure generally used contains four important sections: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions
  2. Reflection Article derived from research. It is a document, which presents results of finished research from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.
  3. Review article. It is a document resulting from a finished research where the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in a field of science or technology, in order to account for the advances and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.
  4. Reflection article not derived from research.
  5. Document that presents the analysis of a problem of higher education, from a reflective perspective, argued from original sources.

Mission

The Revista Docencia Universitaria is a space for disseminating research results and reflections on educational theory, pedagogical practice, teaching, evaluation and comprehensive education in higher education. This all contributes to the understanding, innovation and transformation of the work in the university classroom, for the training of people, citizens and professionals committed to improving their life and environment quality.

Vision

The Revista Docencia Universitaria is projected to 2022 as an open publication, recognized locally, nationally and internationally as a means of quality scientific dissemination, focused on the publication of research on university professors' work, reflection on theory and practice pedagogical, innovation and evaluation in higher education.
