Plagiarism prevention

Médicas UIS uses the licensed version of Turnitin plagiarism detection software. This compares the content of the articles with a database of periodicals and complete articles and evaluates the overlap and similarity. The content overlay is scanned for plagiarism according to the publisher's Editorial Policies. Médicas UIS allows a general similarity of 20%.

 

Disciplinary section

As part of the international commitment that seeks to promote ethics and sanction malpractice it is necessary to create a section that establishes the procedures and sanctions of the journal towards editors, authors and evaluators in the face of some situations of frequent occurrence.

The flowcharts presented correspond to the recommendations of the Committee On Publication Ethics (COPE) in the case of malpractice.

 

 

 

The existence of an ethical code manifests awareness and ensures the prevention of scientific fraud and guides the procedure in case it occurs. This manual is intended for publishers, publishing groups, sponsors, authors and evaluators to function as a guide in the operation of the journal and editorial processes.
