Abstract

Focal nodal hyperplasia is the second most common benign tumor of the liver and should be included in the differential diagnosis of solid liver lesions. We present a case of an adolescent with chronic abdominal pain and abdominal mass finding on physical examination and imaging studies. Surgical resection of the mass was performed, due to the persistent symptoms and uncertainty in diagnosis. We make a literature review on this topic with the objective of known the surgical indications in this pathology. (MÉD. UIS. 2010;23(2):140-3).
