Abstract
High-grade cervical intraepithelial lesion is a precancerous alteration of the squamous epithelium of the cervix, caused by
human papilloma virus. Although homosexual women have factors associated with cervical cancer, it is believed that their
risk is lower, and many do not go for cytology due to negative experiences derived from their sexual orientation, in them,
abnormal cytology and human papilloma virus have been demonstrated in the cervix, but the report of high-grade intrae
pithelial lesion is infrequent. The case of a 31-year-old homosexual woman with abnormal cytology and positive typing for
human papilloma virus is shown. The biopsy reported high-grade cervical intraepithelial lesion confirmed by conization,
negative resection edges. The discovery of a homosexual woman with a high-grade cervical intraepithelial lesion confirms
the importance of including them in screening programs, encouraging their attendance and establishing specific forms of
care based on their condition.
