Abstract
La ecocardiografía transesofágica intraoperatoria es un monitor mínimamente invasivo. En la actualidad esla técnica de imágenes más importante disponible para el anestesiólogo para la monitorización hemodinámicaintraoperatoria, tanto para pacientes sometidos a cirugía cardíaca como no cardíaca. El objetivo de la presenterevisión es describir las principales visiones anatómicas y revisar las mediciones hemodinámicas que sepueden realizar con la ecocardiografía transesofágica intraoperatoria. Se discuten además sus indicacionesy utilidad clínica para así demostrar la factibilidad de la técnica durante el periodo intraoperatorio.
