Abstract
Comparative study of vitamins supplements traded in Colombia and the ideal requirements in patients with chronic kidney disease in dialysis therapyObjective: to establish whether any of the supplements sold in Colombia to comply with international recommendations suggested for patients with chronic renal disease in dialysis therapy. Materials and methods: review of vitamins and concentrations of all supplements sold in Colombia, and have current registration in the INVIMA. Only were accepted those that in their content had least three B-complex vitamins. We do not practice chemical evaluation of pharmaceutical products. A literature review is made. Results: if was found that none of the B complex or multivitamin preparations containing the dose or water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins internationally recommended for patients with chronic kidney disease. Conclusions: there are not in the Colombian some multivitamin market products suitable for administration to patients with chronic renal dialysis therapy. This study should encourage laboratories to produce drugs with ideal combinations for patients with chronic kidney disease.
