Resumo

Introdução: são poucos os estudos que descrevem como a pandemia por
COVID-19 afetou as práticas clínicas dos profissionais de fonoaudiologia, e é
ainda mais escasso o conhecimento deste impacto em países
latino-americanos, como a Colômbia. Objetivo: descrever o impacto da
pandemia de COVID-19 no exercício da fonoaudiologia clínica, bem como as
adaptações implementadas para garantir os cuidados de saúde na Colômbia.
Materiais e métodos: estudo de corte transversal no qual foi aplicado um
questionário online entre janeiro e fevereiro de 2021 a fonoaudiólogos clínicos
com experiência na área. O questionário pesquisou variáveis
sociodemográficas e categorias como o exercício clínico e o impacto do
COVID-19 na prática fonoaudiológica clínica. Os resultados foram analisados
descritivamente e aplicado Chi2 de independência para encontrar possíveis
associações. Resultados: 9 % dos profissionais perderam o emprego devido à
pandemia e, dos restantes, 14 % optaram pela telesaúde. Existem restrições de
intervenção, nomeadamente em matéria de cuidados de saúde e de fala, bem
como adaptações que visam proteger a saúde do paciente e do profissional. É
evidente que o treinamento em atenção com pacientes com COVID-19 promove
o uso de elementos de proteção pessoal (p<0,01), a construção de protocolos de
assistência institucional (p<0,01) e a estabilidade de tempos de intervenção
durante as sessões (p<0,04). Conclusões: a pandemia por COVID-19 impactou
a prática clínica fonoaudiológica e modificou o comportamento dos
profissionais não só pela adoção de medidas de biossegurança, mas também
pela transição para a teleconsulta para garantir a assistência em saúde.
