Resumen

Introducción: El empoderamiento del paciente es un concepto clave en la atención médica, que ha evolucionado desde una perspectiva individual hasta una visión más amplia que incorpora aspectos psicológicos, conductuales y sociales. Sin embargo, sus diversas interpretaciones plantean desafíos para su medición y aplicación. Objetivos: Este estudio analiza el empoderamiento del paciente y sus conceptos relacionados, identificando las dimensiones clave utilizadas en la investigación. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión narrativa de publicaciones clave, centrándose en definiciones, marcos conceptuales y enfoques de medición. Se analizaron estudios relevantes para la estandarización y aplicación práctica del empoderamiento. Resultados: Las definiciones y herramientas de medición varían ampliamente. Las dimensiones fundamentales incluyen la autoeficacia, la autogestión, la participación del paciente y la toma de decisiones compartida, pero no existe un estándar universal para su evaluación. Conclusiones: Se requiere un consenso sobre el empoderamiento del paciente y herramientas de medición estandarizadas para permitir evaluaciones comparables de su impacto. Se recomienda una revisión sistemática para consolidar el conocimiento y mejorar su aplicación en la práctica clínica.
